That attitude on Apple's part all round is why I've never bought an Apple product, and never will.
It's their store they run it how they see fit. Probably saved me from politely asking you to get your wallet out or get the truck outta my way so I could pay. I hate holding my credit card above my head because there's too many clueless browsers at product launch
arrogant up them selves, want to control the world yet obviously they don't make enough money because no anti trust claims from EU when behavior seems many time worse than Microsoft.
If MS was to act like this (and they don't ) millions in fines , but when Apple do it just fine . I also will never purchase a piece of apple crap
I'd remain Anonymous, too if I was a typical petulant snotty little baby, like this one. Don't you get it fool....Apple are in business to look after their paying customers, not time wasting joy riding wankers like you.......GROW UP. !!
Why wait in a massive queue if a large amount of queuers are just lining up to look at this device? Imagine waiting at mcdonalds in front of people who just wanted to smell the hamburgers cooking?? customers always come first, browsers are just browsers.
There are ways to facilitate both, without alienating one group in preference to another.
But I forgot, the True Followers get preference, because anyone who does not want to buy without actually seeing, touching and feeling first obviously has not got what it takes to be an Apple purchaser - blind faith in whatever Apple turns out.
Just like the luddites that have not upgraded their Apple hardware in three years and so are not able to run Snow Leopard - True Followers woulld NEVER have out-of-date hardware.
Some people just love being abused.
What's the big deal about a phone antway? Just wait until all the wannahaves have gone.
Some people apparently DO love being abused - like having to pay to upgrade hardware in order to be able to run Vista - which you also had to pay for, and it turned out to be a total dog.
Oh but wait - now you will be able to fix it all by paying another several hundred dollars for the service pack called Windows 7. Sheesh!
No company is perfect, but Microsoft is light years ahead of anyone else when it comes to arrogance, shoddy products, and contempt for their customers.
As opposed to Snow Leopard eh and the 7 $110 OS updates apple released during the life of XP (with its free updates)?
The ONLY difference is that apple ONLY make software to push their locked down, overpriced and yet underperforming hardware, whereas MS makes software to generate its income, not to drive sales of other things, software that anyone can add to, that anyone can use and that is so cheap when purchased with a PC that anyone can easily afford it.
Some people just like to be sure before they spend that amount on something new, while most people at McDonalds have probably had what they are queueing for before.
Why not try not condoning disgusting commercial behaviour?
Well this is their shop. They can do whatever they want with it. In fact, if they so choose, they can make it "by invitation only" - no invitation, no entry, yes sir but sorry sir! No one has the rights to enter the shop other than the shopowner (and whomever else the shopowner has granted).
That being said, nobody forces the you to buy their product. If this is the way Apple treats you, and you disagree - vote with your wallet. It's not like Apple is the only one selling smartphones in the world.
To all those people who lined up at ridiculous hours to be among the first to get a new phone.....GET A LIFE. The phone will do the extect same things the next day or even in a week, that it does the day it is released.
I very much so agree, why bother lining up hours in advance when you can just wait a few days for the hype to dye down and get the phone then, sure a few of your mates may have the phone before you but who really cares? Ill admit i got my 3GS the day it came out however i bought it from a small vodafone store at about 4pm and there was noone else around, whats the point of going to Apple instead of Vodafone, Optus or god forbid Telstra?
But they need the new iPhone as the 'GetALife' app only runs on that platform :)
Apple = hype. They would have done the full FRA on this going to press, knowing it would create a bigger "must have" spin that it would in and $$ losses.

I'm sure it was said more politely than that and for the most humane of reasons, but that's the jist.
