Australian Apple-focused web forum MacTalk.com.au has been forced to take down an article after it received a legal threat from an unnamed party. "MacTalk got its first ever cease & desist! How exciting," wrote the forum's editor and founder Anthony Agius on Twitter this afternoon. "I can't say who the C&D is from, but if you go through the MacTalk blog, you might notice a missing post regarding an iPhone rumour." The site appears to have taken down an article entitled "Rumour: 16GB iPhone declared 'end of life' by Vodafone & Brightpoint". Vodafone is one of three telcos (also including Optus and Telstra) that sell Apple's iPhone in Australia. According to an August 2007 statement on Brightpoint Australia's website, the company provides outsourced logistics services to Vodafone. In addition, Brightpoint is known to work with Telstra. Agius and spokespeople from Apple and Brightpoint declined to comment on the issue for this article, while a spokesperson from Vodafone said the telco would investigate the matter.
