Apple has confirmed the opening date and time for its Sydney store, which will be the first official Apple store in the southern hemisphere.

Apple says the doors will open at 5pm on Thursday 19 June with the first 2,500 customers receiving a "limited edition" T-shirt.

Inside the store "you'll find every Apple product on display," according to Apple, including help and tutorials on products.

The three-storey shop is located across the road from Telstra's flagship store, T-Life, on the corner of George and King Street in Sydney's CBD.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Apple has recruited 125 employees for the store.
