in brief Samsung Communications today launched the OfficeServ 7100, its first converged communications telephony system for Australian SMBs. "We wanted to make sure that small business owners had an economical solution that would give them the same advanced functionality as larger companies," said Ray Smith, General Manager of Samsung Communications. The rack-mountable server supports up to 32 stations, multiple telephony standards, e-mail, softphone connections and wireless services. Smaller branches can also connect the server to other sites using IP or, alternatively, use it as a local trunk. The 7100 application suite includes on-screen dialling, a statistical reporting package to monitor usage patterns, a PC-based operator console and remote access via the Web-based GUI to manage user accounts. Pricing for the OfficeServ 7100 starts at AU$1,815.
