Some of Dell's customers have not been heeding its advice to return laptop batteries that could potentially explode. A few months ago, Dell had to undertake a massive recall of laptop batteries after a few of them began overheating and then bursting into flames. The company then issued notices with details of every serial number on every relevant battery so customers would know if their battery was affected and that they needed to return it. On Wednesday in the UK, users started reporting that Dell had been sending out the same notice again. With its state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution systems, Dell has a pretty good handle on who buys their computers and where. What it can never know is exactly where the equipment ends up. What Dell does know, it appears, is that not everyone who owns a battery that was listed in its very detailed recall notice has returned them. So if you have a Dell laptop, the company would be grateful if you checked the serial numbers here. The laptops containing batteries that may be included in the recall notice are:
