Unwired boosts Melbourne coverage

Wireless broadband provider Unwired said this morning it had activated three new towers in Melbourne to double its coverage area in the southern capital.

In a statement issued this morning, Unwired said the towers -- in Brighton East, Cheltenham and North Melbourne -- added another 104,000 homes to an initial coverage area serviced by towers in Melbourne's central business district, South Yarra and South Melbourne.

Suburbs covered by the new towers include Brighton, Brighton East, Brighton North, Elsternwick, Cheltenham, Cheltenham East, Cheltenham North, Garden Vale, Ripponlea, Bentleigh, McKinnon, Ormond and parts of Braeside, Keysbrough and Waterways.

Unwired already has a service operational in Sydney.
