    ULL ownership Anonymous -- 18/05/07

If the Tribunal (and the ACCC) are adamant about pricing for ULL access, why don't they approach ACMA to take over ownership of the existing infrastructure, and let Carriers (all) either pay that body, or, build their own network. The Government tricked people into buying shares in a company that they already owned as taxpayers, so they should now let the shareholders compete on an even field.

I can understand why you decline to put your name to your suggestion. What exactly do you mean by "take over ownership". If you mean to nationalize my assest in Telstra (via my share holding) prepare for the biggest legal damages case ever seen in the history of Australia. If you mean the intention is to legally purchase these assets by the offering of sufficient money to attract the owners to sell that is a different matter, but be warned we would be talking quite large numbers here.
