Wayne Benton, receiver and manager with Carson and McLeallan PPB, confirmed the company's call centre infrastructure was to be sold as a viable operation, with the intellectual property relating to speech recognition sold in a separate arrangement.
"We are in the final stages of the sale of some of the intellectual property associated with the company," Benton said. "An offer has also been tendered for the call centre operations."
At this stage Benton was unable to reveal to what extent creditors would be able to recuperate their investment in the company.
Founded in 1998, the company's short history is characterised by a number of major successes including a AU$3 million investment from Ericsson-Deutsche Technology Fund in 2000, and recognition at the Interact + IT 2000 Expo for its enterprise communication platforms.
The following year it won an AusIndustry Start grant in order to develop its Speak AnyWhere Voice Recognition project.
Headquartered in Melbourne, the company had offices in Sydney, Auckland and Kuala Lumpur, and boasted a list of clients including Aussie Home Loans, Pacific Access and World Vision.
Despite these successes, Benton said the business had not been able to commercialise its technology before the seed funding ran dry.
Details of the sale are expected to be revealed within the week.
