Sorry to disappoint you Anonymous troll but Telstra's comments are fair enough, providing that they and all other major ISPs are blocked from being able to invest in the 49% share of the new network.
Shareholders should be the people and to prevent large corporate entities from even bothering to acquire shares the largest possible individual shareholding should be capped at 0.5%.
Why do you continually lambaste Telstra shareholders, a huge amount of which are the Mums and Dads of Australia, merely hoping for a return on what the Government assured them, would be a good investment. I would also like to know why you keep referring to the word troll. My dictionary indicates, that you and your idiot pal Jason, troll this site one helluva lot more than others.
Ma Smith, if it is me you are talking to I suggest you go back and read my comment again. If you have any smattering of an understanding of the English language you will see that I didn't mention anything relating to Telstra shareholders. As for Jason, he didn't mention shareholders either. It is very rare that I go to his defence but at the end of the day honesty will always prevail.
What I did mention are who the shareholders of the new network owner should be and once again I say it should be the people of this country and not large corporate entities.
Seems I have to agree with you Mel. Heart attacks all round, lol. I think that's 2 or 3 times in a few weeks, we've agreed? I'm starting to really love you man, rolf.
But mine was a simple take on the situation, not trolling although I guess I am guilty of that too. Just like the Smith's above.
However, as for Telstra shares, they are currently (2:55pm) sitting at $3.34, just 4c more than they were at IPO in 1997, 26c less than the T3 price and a whopping $4.06 less the T2 for retail investors (the losses being even greater for institutional investors).
This isn't having a go at dinky-di, true blue, pie gobbling, Holden driving Aussie mums named Shaz and dads more commonly known as Shagger, this is the way it is.
Sorry if the truth hurts, Ma and Pa.
My error there, as we did misread you. Must be because we're a pair of very disgruntled Telstra shareholders. But we still think you pal's an idiot with his extremely offensive rematks.
Being neither a fanboy or part of the anti Telstra brigade, I found it most amusing when all the anti Telstra people said haha, when Telstra were ousted.
But equally, I find it funny now that the fanboys are gloating.
I believe this is obviously a positive short term (< 8 years) win for Telstra and we have seen a spike in their share price accordingly.
But long term, whereas FTTN meant Telstra's copper network would still be utilised for possibly decades to come or taken by the government with huge compensation, with FTTP it will be made totally redundant without compensation one would assume, within 8 years.
Time will tell I guess?
Mel and Jason are again engulfed in the whirlpool of impossible fantasy.
Australia cannot afford to own the NBN network. As the Prime Minister has honestly said it must be 49% private owned until built and after five years operational function sold 100% to the public.
I hope Telstra (as the only salvation for the NBN proposal) will join Government and form an alliance whereby they supply the facilities for cable roll-out and furnish capital and technical advice to allow a successful and speedy NBN roll-out and a big plus for Government.
To provide for a happy ongoing relationship with Government (and the ACCC) Telstra would need to negotiate for a separated system of operation to ensure competition at all levels.
Telstra, of course would have the ownership of the NBN network at the end of the build period.
The reason the country cannot afford it at the moment is because KRudd is giving money out like jellybeans and with the promise of a possible third handout before the year is over he is making sure the status quo remains for as long as possible.
I support FTTH 100% and I believe Australia has the ability to build it but trying to find $43bn in a $200bn pool of public debt is a difficult job to do for any party which brings me back to the root cause of the situation - a dimwitted government with no economic credentials that really should not be in office.
since you feel so strongly about the handouts, out of principal, you'll be handing any you get back then?
No, I won't be handing it back in and I am man enough to admit that. Will you hand yours back?
That doesn't mean that I should be supporting this ridiculous scheme though. This has never happened before, at least in my lifetime - the Commonwealth Government is just throwing money around like jellybeans and it has to be paid back somehow.
Mr Airhead (Treasurer, Wayne Swan) talks about the tax cycle, claiming that the government will get the money back in the tax take anyway but he's wrong. The Commonwealth won't see a single cent of the money they are splurging. KRudd hands you $900 which you then spend on anything you like. Whatever you spend the money on, in most cases, is subject to GST which is then handed to the Commonwealth Government BUT is then handed by them to the states in full. The Commonwealth doesn't receive any GST for itself. The states then blow the GST handouts on their ailing education and health authorities, which pay no taxes at all and the profits end up in the hands of British and American companies that dominate those industries.
Great stimulus this turned out to be, ay. The only thing being stimulated of late is KRudd's instrument on one of his overseas flights.
so you are a man of hot air and no principals.
these payments are wrong you say ~ but in the same breath you ask, where's mine?
no I won't hand mine back either, but then I'm not the one condeming the payouts, am I.
i think it's good to finally see a government with a heart, who cares more about the people, than they do about a surplus they simply got from selling our assets and boasting.
When or where did he say "where's mine" you airhead, ?
What he did say was:-
"No, I won't be handing it back in and I am man enough to admit that. Will you hand yours back?
That doesn't mean that I should be supporting this ridiculous scheme though."
I was going to add that you're as stupid as that idiot Jason, but no one else on the planet can be that stupid. You are getting close though.
Brad (also known as Mel, Lord ((haha)) Watchdog, Steve, Anonymous Troll, Idiot Heckler and others) you have a friend. Congrats your first ever.
He "conveniently" follows you and sticks up for you, absolutely everywhere Brad. Sniffing away at the "imperforate anus". Roflmfao. What's his name, Biatch?
Wow, we now have two imperforate anus', who can only display courage, when hiding behind a monitor, mouthing off, under the self inflated alias of Lord (Watchdog) or Anonymous.
Perhaps you two could pool your goverment handouts and buy yourselves an escort or two, to set free all that pubescent, pent-up testosterone?
Sorry, I forgot how insensitive of me, you don't have any balls.
There is no doubt that your anus has been well and truly perforated Jason, you absolute sh.t for brains. Why don't you grow up, and realize that your stupid, incessant slimeball comments only result in everyone on this forum agreeing with the fact that you are a lowlife f..kwit, and reacting accordingly. But maybe that is just what turns you on ayey, mummy's boy. You obviously don't have much else to live for, by the sound of it.
"Wow, we now have two imperforate anus', who can only display courage, when hiding behind a monitor, mouthing off, under the self inflated alias of Lord (Watchdog) or Anonymous".
BTW, how many times do you post as anonymous Jason, you brainded f..kwit ? Funny thing is, you can throw it, but you cannot take it, and it's for sure and certain you have no balls, you idiot.
Oh Mr Anonymous Troll/Idiot Heckler, you are so sneakily anonymous aren't you?
How many times do I post as anonymous? I'm being asked this by an ANONYMOUS HECKLER, rofl, you stupid ***t.
It is most obvious that since I have only targeted and upset two bigoted, big mouthed, ***king morons, one on each side of the argument, that you are one of them or a "paid associate", as neither of you selfish, disgraceful lowlife curs, could possibly have friends.
So Idiot Heckler you are either (or at different times both, ooh super sneaky) the idiot money losing, Telstra shareholder/Optus customer (haha) dumb***k, SYDNEY MIKE NE***, also known as Sydney Mike, OIC, Josef, Ma & Pa Smith, anonymous, Idiot heckler and others. Or the grudge filled, Grand Wizard, SACKED TELSTRA VOLUNTEER (haha) Brad Le**, also known as Mel Sommersberg, Lord (haha) Watchdog, Steve anonymous, Idiot heckler and others.
Thing is, whatever I say applies to both of you, so it really doesn't matter, rofl. You are both a carbon copy of each other, just on opposing sides. Both right wing extremists, who care only about themselves and are too spineless to engage in actual correspondence with me, because even though you are too small to admit it, you both know I have embarrassed, humiliated and made others aware of who you are and why you both "selfishly" comment as you do.
So in future, if you'd like, whenever I comment just pretend there's an imaginary x 2 at the end, to cover you both - you imperforate anus'!
You seem to have a distinct liking for the word anus Jason, but that figures, as we all know why that is. Obviously not getting any lately, aye f..kwit.
Haha, getting desperate now. Nowhere to go is there moron.
I own you YLB.
Come in spinner, well it's almost ANZAC day.
If you care to look around you will see my input in relation to comms. Unlike you, little boy.
I also note whenever I ask Brad to verify his claims (lies) you magically appear to cloud the issue.
However I do enjoy embarassing lying morons like you too, so... again read this, it is you, rofl.
"The fact that you have been systematically out debated and analytically overwhelmed, and my home truths about you have cut deep, is most apparent.
You have been reduced to supplying nothing more than incoherent, non sensical, childish insults and you are even too scared to post just one comment here, under your actual name.
Also, your lack of posting anything comms related and your fixation on immature rants as revenge; is testament to the fact that you are too small and lack the intelligence to accept the facts and just move on".
The truth hurts deosn't it, anonymous troll/idiot heckler!
Cya tomorrow Fido don't be late! Dont forget too, to use th 'c' word next time, that's alway a winner!
I firmly believe that this f..kwit Jason is more to be pitied than prodded. Anyone that spends the whole Easter break sitting at his PC, waiting and hoping for a response to his insane rantings, has a serious psychotic problem. The Cohen Brothers would have a ball casting him as the anti-social, brain dead, dole bludging, social outcast, that he so effortlessly portrays in real life. Fair dinkum, what a f..ked in the head loser, and the really funny thing is that he is such a narcissistic f..kwit , he doesn't realize what an absolute moron he is. I suggest we all ignore the stupid prick.
Right back at ya BRAD/MEL.
