A lot of money to spend on som ...Anonymous -- 04/08/04

A lot of money to spend on something that is already in place , I think the people of telstras publicity branch need to get out and see the real world for what is instead of giving us bullshit. I know for a fact that telstra will not provide broadband to the out lying ares until they have a certain number of clients wanting it . As said in the article at the end, and I quote" The upgrade program will operate in areas where the parent exchange has been ADSL enabled and there is sufficient customer demand in the affected areas to make the upgrade economic."All this means is they wont do it till enough are booked in to get it . At the moment in one area 15 have ordered broardband, but Telstra won't move till they get 75, and these numbers come straight from Telstra. They have had the means to provide broardband to EVERY HOUSE HOLD . Why wont the connect? Simply because there wont be a profit in it just yet and they are afraid Optus will be able to attract more customers.
