An online post by a BigPond representative on broadband information site Whirlpool late yesterday afternoon highlighted the move.
The post stated: "Telstra Corporate Security also is assisting with a view to taking legal action against identified perpetrators." A Telstra spokesperson confirmed the statement referred to those behind the malware epidemic.
Other information in the post reflected a statement that Telstra issued to ZDNet Australia yesterday afternoon. However Telstra did not disclose to ZDNet Australia at that time that any legal action was proposed.

Of course, Telstra could also try and stem the flow of such malware by providing anti-virus and anti-spam scanning for customer e-Mail accounts, at no extra cost to their users.
