The telco will launch from November 30 a new choice of plans featuring the higher speeds. The plans will come as stand-alone broadband and also bundled with integrated services such as hosted e-mail, security, domain name registration, 24x7 technical support and Web hosting.
A range of bolt-on options such as PC backup (which come standard with the higher plans) are also available.
Unlike consumers, who only get a few pre-packaged options through Telstra's retail BigPond division, businesses can virtually pick their desired speed and download limit.
For example, Telstra is offering uncapped ADSL1 or ADSL2+ speeds with monthly download limits ranging from 500MB ($59.95 per mont) to unlimited ($305.00), with many options in between. Excess data usage is charged at 12c/MB.
The packaged plans, labelled Starter, Advantage and BDSL, come with networking hardware from Cisco Systems.
Telstra is currently offering to waive some setup and installation fees, especially when customers sign up for 24-month plans.
"The new packages are flexible, with businesses able to upgrade or downgrade at any time, and can be tailored to suit individual business needs," a statement issued by Telstra this morning about the plans said.
The move comes as in late September Telstra said it had finished putting together its new dedicated SMB division, flagging plans to make the unit's presence felt with new product offerings over the proceedings months.
Also this morning, Telstra released the names of three new customers of its business services: RSL Victoria, vineyard Bulong Estate and real estate group Buxton Real Estate.
