Telstra has reaped an AU$18 million bonus from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) after the agency exercised options on its current voice services contracts.
The ATO extended its contracts with Telstra for voice carriage services and voice facilities management for 12 months. Both were three year deals, first signed in July 2004.
In both contracts, the ATO has three option periods of 12 months it can choose to exercise.
The voice carriage services extension, worth AU$11,486,200, covers inbound and outbound call centre services, such as 1300 and 1800 services. The contract also includes mobile phone carriage services and account management.
Telstra Business Services was awarded the voice facilities management extension, worth AU$7,184,100. This covers telephony call data information, ATO directory services, service desk, billing, reporting and asset management.
An ATO spokesperson said the contract options were executed at the end of April.
