Aussie Member of Parliament into vodoo not mateship? kathryn pollard -- 04/09/05 (in reply to #120120651)

Even though she is reported as sticking pins in dolls, Telco Minister Helen Coonan seems to have learnt a lot more about how Telstra operates then her predecessor Richard Alston who was out of depth so made snides at people who tried to call telstra to account then ran away to England leaving what now appears to be a mess.

That aside anyone who has lived abroad knows that compared to other places we have been overcharged for call charges and rent for telco services for years. Telstra profits have been in billions of dollars for years because lots of people spend as much on telco expenses as they do on food.

I'm not sure what spells Ms Coonan wishes on the Telstra chiefs but the big question would be: Would she recommend telstra shares to her father?
