Hell, I come from a small rural town that we have complained, and complained, and complained about the bloody noise in most phonelines in the area. If I ring my ISP, they tell us that they would have to send a guy out at my expense to test the phone line (despite the fact that I can hear and so can they the static in it).
Long story short, ADSL dropouts are common to MOST people in the area, and telstra won't get off their **** to fix it. $50 per day isn't enough... shove atleast 3 naughts after that - might be worth something then. Hell, train operators in victoria get slugged more for a late train on the same day 5 mins and 59 seconds from time!
