The price for the 256k broadband service with 200mb of included data has been cut from AU$29.95 a month to AU$19.95.
Primus Telecom managing director, Greg Wilson said he is expecting Primus to be a "major force" in the broadband market after the announcement of a major expansion to the company's DSL network and the "aggressive campaign to provide customers with broadband at dial-up prices".
"It is fitting that the award for best ISP has returned to its rightful owner," Wilson said.
Primus is expecting the cuts in broadband prices to provide customers and households with a "compelling case to switch to high speed service that enables video streaming, richer Web browsing and transfer of pictures and music files".
Primus has also announced the release of Secure DSL for business broadband which incorporates high speed Internet with built-in firewall, anti-virus and anti-spam features.
"We will continue to offer most competitively priced ADSL broadband service while introducing innovative features that add to the quality of the online experience," Wilson said.
Interesting that the charges for excess data aren't mentioned. At approximately $150 per GB it would shock more than the odd family when the found out how quickly data was used at 'broadband' speeds. Guess the company has to 'legitimately' make it money somewhere though!
