Primus, Google close deal on Web search services

iPrimus and Google have inked an agreement that will make Google the exclusive provider of Web search and targeted keyword advertisements to iPrimus customers in the country.

Under the agreement, Google will provide users of www.iprimus.com.au, www.primusonline.com.au and www.aol.com.au with Google Web search through the Google AdSense programme for Web site publishers.

Google AdWords advertisers will appear on the search results pages of the iPrimus sites based on the user's search requests. Google will also provide Web search results to iPrimus customers.

Campbell Sallabank, general manager, strategy and product development, Primus Telecom said iPrimus, a division of Internet service provider Primus Telecom, will "benefit from the additional revenue opportunity and the ability to take full advantage of the growth in search-related advertising."

Omid Kordestani, senior vice president of worldwide sales and field operations at Google said the agreement will ensure that Google AdWords advertisers extend their reach to the audience in "a compelling and effective way."
