Fibre player Pipe Networks has taken telecommunications analyst house Market Clarity to court in a copyright case, which appears to revolve around the publication of network infrastructure maps.

The case, filed on 1 April by Pipe Networks, appears to be about Market Clarity's publication of maps used for its Telecommunications Infrastructure Atlas which depict Pipe Network's fibre-optic network, among other networks.
The Atlas contains 341 maps of backhaul fibre, microwave, DSLAMs and fixed wireless broadband infrastructure created from the company's infrastructure database.
There have been a number of directions hearings since the case was filed, the latest of which was held today. At one of the hearings, Justice Jagot ordered that Market Clarity shouldn't reproduce, licence or publish a number of its maps which depicted Pipe Network's fibre-optic network until the matter was heard.
Pipe Networks has yet to file its statement of claim, which is scheduled to occur tomorrow. Market Clarity will be filing its defence next week.
Pipe Networks CEO Bevan Slattery was unavailable for comment while Market Clarity declined to comment.
