Optus said yesterday a six-year deal to supply the services to the so-called Cluster 3 group had been extended by two years, to June 2007.
Optus business managing director, Peter Kaliaropoulos said the win would see the telecommunications company continue to provide the departments and agencies with managed voice, data, local area network, mobile and inbound telephony services.
"Optus' track record in delivering mission critical, whole-of-business communications services to Cluster 3 Agencies, has resulted in them extending their relationship with us," Kaliaropoulos said.
Agencies in the cluster include the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs; Australian Electoral Commission; Geoscience Australia; IPS Radio and Space Services: and the Department of Finance and Administration.
