in brief A power failure yesterday afternoon caused some Optus corporate customers in Sydney to lose their telephony and DSL services for a few hours.
The interruption to service occurred at 3pm. Optus jumped on the problem, working with its energy provider towards an answer.
The problem was treated "as a matter of urgency" according to an Optus spokesperson, with all services up and running by 5:30pm.
Optus could not confirm how many customers had been impacted.

I wasn't aware either Optus or Internode were power supply companies, do they give good rates?
They probably do, if they leech off the supplier like they do elsewhere, Tezz.

umm, no, sorry, the delivery of Optus services in CBD's would have little to do with Telstra lines and would be distributed via Optus fibre.
