Commitment to competition? Michael Crichton -- 12/01/06 (in reply to #120126912)

"This acquisition demonstrates Optus' commitment to providing competition and choice to benefit Australian consumers," Marchbank said.

    What???

How does one telco assuming FULL control of a mobile phone company that used to COMPETE against that telco's mobile phone offerings show a commitment to competition and choice?

    Did I miss something???

    Oh Great?!?!?! Anonymous -- 12/01/06

Does this mean costs will increase?

    To quote Optus.. "Yes".

I guess it will also mean that I will be called by Indian call centres offering Optus products as they do via land line.

Me thinks it's time to hunt around for another provider, again.
