As expected, the phone includes a high-resolution screen that supports 4096 colours and a built-in digital camera. Nokia has said the 6650 will boast an advanced graphical user interface as well as a WAP 1.2.1 browser and USB, Bluetooth and Infrared connectivity options.
Java support should mean that users are able to play games that are more compelling than those available on existing mobile phones.

As well as taking individual photos, the 6650 will also record video, complete with audio, at 10 frames per second at a resolution of 128x96 pixels.
The 6650 will work both on GSM networks, and on WCDMA -- the third-generation mobile standard in Europe and Asia. The 6650 will begin shipping to mobile phone operators later this year, and should be on sale to consumers in the first half of 2003.
Nokia also launched a Bluetooth wireless headset on Thursday.
