Integrator Dimension Data has installed the Cisco-based hardware and software over the past 18 months, with the wireless coverage still to be completed.

A statement issued by Cisco yesterday said the school's staff were using Cisco's 7960G handsets, in addition to software-based phones on staff laptops. Staff e-mail access has also been integrated with the new telephone systems.
"About 1,300 students and 200 teachers use notebook computers to connect wirelessly to the MGS local area network from any classroom, library or staff room across the school's three campuses in South Yarra and Caulfield," said the statement.
"About 100 Cisco wireless access points provide connectivity at MGS's two South Yarra campuses. The junior school in Caulfield is connected via a point-to-point microwave bridge, and also has Cisco wireless installed for the students in years 5 and 6," it continued.
