It dismays me that in all the arguments flying back and forth, no one seems to be concerned by the position of a large and growing number of low income people afraid to be without a phone, are being forced to reduce their living standards to pay for line rental, for these people who do not make many calls it makes their calls very expensive. I cannot see why telstra can't get their income from phone users, so that the user pays system operates. Also we must remember that if a phone costs to much, fewer people will have a phone and reduce the usefulness of the system for everyone.

Another rip off by T(H)elstra. If subscribers DO NOT lodge a request for the special deal free calls and other carrots, by June 1st, They will miss out all together and then for those users who miss the deadline, the price hike will be even worse. It's another of T(H)elstra's backhanded attempt to beat the ACCC?
