Telstra spokesperson Stuart Gray confirmed that a -corruption" has occurred within one of its mail stores, for the second time in a week, although the company's technicians remain unsure as to the exact cause.
-We thought it was fixed, but it's re-occurred again. We're not sure exactly what the corruption is but it's impacting on customers. We're transferring all those customers [with user names beginning with P and F] off that mail store and are putting them onto a new mail store, then we'll rebuild the one that's got the problem," Gray said.
The transfer of affected customers to a new mail store began yesterday and is likely to be completed by tomorrow morning, according to Gray, who said the maximum e-mail receiving delay likely to be experienced by users is around four hours.
