What evidence? Or are we banned from seeing that, too?
The evidence is in the report on the pilot, silly - which they've already typed up, printed out and stuck in envelopes ready to post. They just have to wait until the pilot finishes...sorry, wait until it STARTS. Which may take a while, considering how much effort they've gone to to tailor the pilot parameters to match the results they want.
So Astrology is now illegal?

People may not believe in it and that's fine, but is there anything in this page we shouldn't see?
...otherwise you're looking at a $10,000 fine for twentyfour hours that the parent post (containing a link to a site on the blacklist) has existed, and another $10,000 fine for each consecutive twenty-four hour period until that post is removed.
Anyone taking bets on how long it will be until liberal.org.au mysteriously appears on the blacklist? :)
Didn't Getup get funded by the Whirlpool anti-ISP filter blog contributors to run this campaign?
Talk about a vested interest, they are being paid to say this... I believe over $50K.
So much for credibility.
I could be wrong, but isn't getup a comunity organisation of some sort? If you have one of these trees that grow money (as money is probably needed to run a campaign) then let me know, because i would love one. I'm just looking at their site now so i have some basis for an argument, maybe you can check it out too and get back to me.
Here you go, so you don't hurt your self searching..
http://www.getup.org.au/
yeah, they ask for donations on their page. Hmm getup, action for australia.. So they probably get donations from individuals because they can make more noise.. Interesting concept. What will my 10 bucks do? add that up to as you believe over $50K and theres probably alot more air time in that.
Unfortunatly i did not donate any cash as i am abit tight with my wallet, but on the back of your stupid statement (not even close to an argument) I think i might see what i can spare. Thanks Anonymous fool ;)
On the one hand full marks to getup.
On the other, I am not aware that they posted a 2007/2008 annual report. Nor am I aware that they publish audited accounts.
I am happy to be proved wrong, and I have made contributions once or twice, but I am getting concerned how much money they have AND how it is being used.
So anonymous poster states something which turns out to be an utter lie and then attacks credibility of Getup.
From one anonymous poster to another let me ask you this: Do you work for Conroy or are you posting this sillyness all on your own?
A national television advertising campaign could be very important. This opens the door to international ad and tv prizes, awards, medals and maximum press coverage.
It also allows print media to report on how and why the ad was made, that it was paid for by donations and shown on Australian TV. The international press could shine a light on Communications Minister Stephen Conroy's policies as was done with the policies of B.J. Vorster and P.W. Botha.
The name "Stephen Conroy" could enter the English language :)
Conroy has about as much evidence as Bush did to invade Iraq.
Big Man, no brains.
"Without the trial, it was too difficult to determine exactly what unwanted material could be blocked by the filter, Communications Minister Stephen Conroy said in a statement."
But there will be no evidence about what is NOT blocked by the filter. The only evidence they will get is "Something is blocked-So the filter must work".
The not blocked evidence is what is needed to show the whole filter approach is a waste of time and money.
Except for GetUp itself and it's members, it's not taken all that seriously. In the case of the latter group, support for anything is _always_ less than universal due to GetUp's perennial bandwaggoning, creating a situation where one member's righteous crusade is another's "meh".
It is unfortunate that this "cause of the day" noise box gets so much attention when it simply exists for the sake of politicking and growing a member-base by whoring the current "hot issue".
I say it's unfortunate as it is at the expense of organisations such as EFA that are and have been in this for the long haul and that possess the knowledge and strategy to affect change, but which don't have the numbers and text/sound byte desirability this seems to garner.

Unfortunately, governments never pay attention to public opinion. The best way to get rid of this farcical idea, is for the opposition parties to kick it out of parliament . Keep the fight going,GetUp !
