I agree with Liz. I would also add they run the business for their own staff's benefit. Why does the Business office at South Melbourne close it's parcel division at 1:30pm? Those of us who have to work shift, have no way of getting our parcels from this office because it opens at 7am and closes at 1:30pm. That's a 6hr window. A bank offers better hours than that! and they aren't noted for their customer relations either.

Might I suggest that Australia Post would move more mail if it serviced the needs of its customers, moved into the 21st century and allowed people to mail parcels and other non-standard letters outside of normal business hours?
It amazes me that I can do everything at all hours via machine and computer - pay bills, order things online, etc - yet I still have to physically get to a post office between 9am and 5pm in order to mail a parcel.
If Australia Post managed to come up with a machine that allows me to weigh my parcel and print out a small post ticket so I can put it in the box and be on my way? No, for some reason they think that no one works and that everyone has plenty of time to get to a PO between business hours.
