I am happy that this is once again getting headlines. This is publicity that could not be bought and even though many places are trying to make it look like Telstra is in the wrong including this site. The truth is that more and more people are seeing the truth and realising that this is simply a grab for ratings and popularity by the media and government.
Short of changing the constitution the federal government has tried everything in its power to block Telstra of delivering to its customers and shareholders, which I am both.
I welcome Telstra spending a few million dollars in publicising a cause; this is just as much as they would spend on a television campaign which the ACCC would scrutinise with a fine tooth comb to find a way of penalising them and would probably represent the equivalent of 1 or 2 hours of what they would invest in their network upgrades each year anyhow.

Never in the history of Australian politics have the Australian people been confronted with such supercilious, power hungry born to rule dictators as we see in the Howard Government.
Senator Coonan's outburst against Telstra, for simply expressing their opinion, was pure dictatorial action and must be condemned in a democratic, free enterprise system.
Competition is good but Telstra should not be expected to sacrifice itself to assist competitors. Roll on the election Mr. Howard, you can hold off the date and run scared but you can't hide.
