in brief Stephen Conroy's Department of Communications, Broadband and the Digital Economy has declined to comment on multiple reports its secretary Patricia Scott will move to another government role.
Last night, News.com.au reported Scott, who has led the department since 2007 after moving from the Human Services portfolio, was expected to be shifted as part of a wider reshuffle that could also affect the secretaries of the Defence and Finance organisations.
ITWire also reported the move this morning, saying Scott would be appointed to lead the Productivity Commission.
News.com.au had reported that Scott had "endured a difficult relationship" with Conroy, since the Rudd Government took power in late 2007. The public servant also served under Senator Helen Coonan when she held the communications minister post.
