Users of Comindico dial-up Internet accounts were frustrated by a national outage today, as a software glitch kept customers offline for an hour.

The problem affected all customers nationally from around 10am this morning. A company spokesman confirmed the problem.

"We have traced the problem to a hitherto unidentified software problem, recovered the network service and begun working with the software vendor to put in place a permanent fix," he told ZDNet Australia.

ADSL customers were not affected.
