Clever owns and operations a wireless network across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, while BigAir's network runs over Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Both use fixed, rather than mobile wireless technologies.

The offer values each BigAir share at 5.24 cents, according to the offer documents, with Clever proposing a one for one scrip offer to buy 100 per cent of BigAir.

The news comes after BigAir had said it was interested in picking up iBurst, the wireless operator partially owned by Commander Communications, which recently appointed administrators.
