Telstra and Fibre. Anonymous -- 27/03/07

Senator Coonans policies are in a shambles and the Liberal have been caught with their pants down by the Labor proposal of a joint venture high speed Broadband network for Australia. The Prime Minister must move fast and negoiate with Telstra to roll out the system demanded by Australians. It will be necessary for the ACCC to allow Telstra a fair return on their investment for any sale of their assets to Telstra's opposition, this in fact is fair and reasonable business practice and should not be a problem for the rollout. I believe that if Mr. Howard does not rectify this problem, Broadband will rank with the IR laws as the reason he will be defeated at the next election.

But what about the monopoly? Anonymous -- 28/03/07

I think a broadband network would be marvelous, but without majority investment we're really just trading one private monopoly for another.
