Air New Zealand has signed a five-year, NZ$100 million deal to outsource its telecommunications requirements to Telecom, New Zealand's largest telecommunications company.

Under the deal, Telecom will manage Air New Zealand's global voice and data network infrastructure, as well as hosting the airline's network hardware within Telecom Exchange buildings and purchasing a range of its IT network assets, including routers and PABXs.

Telecom's ICT arm, Telecom Advanced Solutions, is to deliver network management solutions, including migration of the airline's network to an Internet Protocol-based solution.
