AU$1bn WiMax deal 'will see Australians left behind'

    A typical politician's comment - attack, attack, attack without any real substance. Such a review should come from people with the knowledge and good understanding of the background. I certainly won't trust the words from a politician.

    Tony Kelly must understand that it is only on the far outer edges of the Australian poulation that will be using the WiMax solution which is backed by major vendors, just not the ones that sell to Telstra. The Opel network will be delivering "hundreds" of additional ADSL 2+ DSLAMS to areas that no one else would dare go to because of the cost v's return on investment. Most importantly the Opel network will provide a regional and rural open access fibre backhaul that will allow competition to thrive in these areas as it did for the metro areas. Get the big picture Tony!
