Cheap mobile broadband Simon Goslett -- 16/07/07

With convergence happening across the board, what is going to happen to pricing models? I currently pay $49 month for 20 Gb adsl and $20 month for my cdma mobile. I want my dsl to get cheaper and my mobile to get cheaper, as they have for the past 15 years or so. But soon the cdma gets turned off and the replacement looks to start at $35. Will the trend for data access be to drive down mobile broadband cost or to uplift current access pricing? I suspect the latter.
