In brief Broadcaster Seven has helped Engin become a player in the WiMax market by bankrolling an investment in wireless ISP Unwired.

Engin today acquired over ten percent Unwired, which was financed by a debt facility from Seven that has enabled the company to "participate in the growth of wireless broadband", according to a submission to the Australian stock exchange.

Engin is already considering how it could work with Unwired and has already mooted delivering its VoIP and Tivo services alongside Unwired's broadband access.

While no takeover of Unwired is on the cards yet, Engin said, a future merger has not been ruled out of the question.
