in brief The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has started recruiting for a chief information officer, to be based in Canberra. ACMA was formed in mid-2005 when the broadcasting and communications regulators merged, reflecting the increasing level of convergence between the two sectors. ACMA is now responsible for the regulation of broadcasting, radio communications, telecommunications and online content. "As a relatively new agency, we are looking to enhance our capability through employment of a strategic and highly professional leader in information and communications technologies to be our chief information officer," the agency said in an advertisement. Only candidates with Australian citizenship need apply for the role, worth up to AU$164,000.
