In brief Networking heavyweight Ericsson has sealed a four-year deal to create and support a new network for TelstraClear, Telstra's New Zealand subsidiary.

The Research and Education Advanced Network New Zealand (REANNZ) has commissioned TelstraClear to build a network connecting the country's research institutions and partners in over 40 countries.

Ericsson said under the TelstraClear contract, it would supply switches for the 10 Gb network, as well as support services.
