Australian ISP guideline inches closer By Vivienne Fisher, ZDNet Australia May 17, 2002 URL: http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/communications/soa/Australian-ISP-guideline-inches-closer/0,130061791,120265316,00.htm
A guideline aimed at helping consumers make informed decisions when choosing an ISP looks set to be finalised within the next couple of months. Last month ZDNet Australia reported that the Australian Communication Authority (ACA) had released a draft ISP guideline, for disclosing service information to potential customers. Public submissions closed on Monday, but an ACA spokesperson said it had extended the deadline until the end of the week. The ACA is currently working through the 18 submissions it has so far received, the spokesperson said. He said it was planning to hold a meeting with those who had expressed an interest in the guideline. -We hope to finalise or work towards finalising a guideline by early July," the spokesperson said.
