Telstra ushers in New Year with ADSL troubles By Rachel Lebihan, ZDNet Australia January 07, 2002 URL: http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/communications/soa/Telstra-ushers-in-New-Year-with-ADSL-troubles/0,130061791,120262738,00.htm
Telstra's ADSL users in Queensland have been suffering intermittent problems and packet loss since January 2, with the telco giant still no clearer as to what the underlying issue is. Telstra technicians have been working on the difficulty since it was reported on January 2 and are -still in the thick of the problem", spokesperson Stuart Gray told ZDNet Australia. "They're working through all the possible scenarios and eliminating them one by one," Gray said, adding that as yet there is no estimated time of repair. Telstra has tagged the problem as an -intermittent and low-level issue", with the intermittence making it difficult to pinpoint the root cause of the problem. Vendors are also said to be investigating what is believed to be a software or hardware issue. "It's not characteristic of a Denial of Service attack," Gray said.
