UPDATE: Telstra's ADSL service in Queenlsand is flaking out on some users who are enduring connection problems and timeout errors when logging on.

On its service status page the telco heavyweight claims the problem commenced shortly before 9.30 this morning but BigPond ADSL customers were discussing problems on a broadband community forum last night. One message claimed that Telstra had reported problems with BigPond broadband ADSL at about 9.20pm and respondents claim they were still having problems at 6.00am.

Telstra has confirmed that a problem with a network card in the IPSN in Brisbane sparked the login difficulties last night at about 9pm. The card was replaced, "but there still seems to be about 100 customers having problems," Telstra spokesperson Stuart Gray said.

Telstra said it was working with the vendor to try to specify the problem and rectify it.
