Shared broadband access tools arrive for the SOHO and SME markets. Single point access for multiple computers is now on offer from Netgear. The product's arrival in Australia and New Zealand means home workers and small offices can have a number of computers connected to the Internet via a single port and DSL or cable modem connection to the Internet. Netgear's RT314 is PC and Apple Macintosh compatible, and as well as offering multiple broadband access it will act as the firewall to protect your home network. The unit has a four port 10/100 switch to offer router functionality. Installation, the makers claim, is easy with a Web based wizard for set up. Ian McLean, managing director of Netgear Asia said of the product's arrival in Australia, -Shared broadband Internet access in the home or business is driving the need to connect multiple computer." At AUS$499 the unit is affordable and comes with a free telephone support service.
