Industry reports have tipped that iGreen is likely to break up, with the telephony, calling card and Internet businesses to be sold separately. It's also been suggested that a buyer for the calling card part of the business may have been found already.
A spokesperson for PriceWaterHouseCoopers (PWC) administrator Greg Hall said "At present we're continuing to trade the business. We've sought urgent expressions of interest for the calling card business and met with a number of interested parties".
This came after PWC "commenced an assessment on the affairs of the company, which is par for the course during the administration of a company".
PWC's Greg Hall and Phil Carter were appointed as voluntary administrators on the 20th of February by Optus. The major telco is involved in a row with the directors of Green Communications over a significant but undisclosed debt.
Reports also indicate that the majority of debts owed by Green Communication, mostly owed to Optus and MCI Worldcom, have not been incurred by the broadband side of their business.
A creditors meeting was held yesterday, with representatives from Telstra, National Australia Bank, Optus and others in attendance. Another creditors' meeting is to be held in three weeks.
