It will happen Mel Sommersberg -- 11/12/08

This article is a roundabout way of suggesting that the Microsoft-Yahoo merger proposal may end up back on the table and I believe it will mean all of Yahoo may be up for grabs, not just search.

What would it mean for Australia's two media-search joint ventures though - 9MSN and Yahoo7? 7 and 9 are not only arch rivals but bitter enemies as the first two commercial television stations in Australia.

Back to the merger, I'd like to see it happen because I want Google taken down a peg or three and a merger between Microsoft and Yahoo would have more than enough clout to do it.
