WorldCom reveals Asia Pac job losses

Less than two percent of WorldCom Asia Pacific employees will lose their jobs, according to a company spokesperson.

Rowena Kwok, regional manager, WorldCom Asia Pacific, told ZDNet Australia that a total of 35 employees in the Asia Pacific region would lose their jobs, although she could not specify how many Australian jobs would be lost.

WorldCom is laying off 17,000 employees worldwide in an attempt to turn the company around, with most of these appearing to be coming from the US operation.
