Named after the Rosetta Stone, Project Rosetta is intended to unlock the information stored in various government applications.
-Project Rosetta will establish the infrastructure for an integrated and automated directory service to allow secure provision of accurate information on people, resources, assets and services across the whole of the Victorian Government," said Victoria's Information and Communication Technology Minister, Marsha Thomson.
-Our eGovernment vision is not simply about putting more services online, it is about using technology in all areas of government to improve the support and services to all Victorians."
Tender participants will be required to design and implement directory infrastructure across the ten core Government departments, develop identity management frameworks, and implement extended business functionality. It is expected that implementation of the directory--which will be aligned with the redevelopment of the www.vic.gov.au portal--will take between 15 and 18 months.
