Project Rosetta is a program to develop an online directory service that would centralise and simplify the online directory presently shared by 10 government departments in Victoria.
Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Marsha Thomson, said Novell was short-listed for the new online directory infrastructure in March and the company will design, develop, implement and support the project over five years.
Thomson said Project Rosetta will establish "an integrated and automated directory service that will allow the secure provision of accurate information on people, resources, assets and services across the whole of the Victorian government."
The contract also includes a whole-of-government buying agreement for other Victorian government agencies not included in the initial project. This means small government agencies not included in the initial rollout of the 10 government departments will be able to join in the future.
