An iPrimus network problem that caused in-bound e-mails to be delayed by several hours has been fixed.

The slowdown was detected by the company's staff on Saturday, and was resolved "over the weekend," a spokesperson for iPrimus said. ZDNet Australia  readers reported experiencing delays as early as Thursday.

The spokesperson said the issue was "nothing at all" like the severe e-mail problems experience by BigPond users last month, and did not affect all subscribers.

"People were receiving e-mails some hours after they were sent," the company spokesperson said. "It was detected on the weekend on Saturday... and they worked on it and fixed it and it's [now] working as normal."

The company representative did not know what the cause of the problem was at the time of publication. Two iPrimus users that had experienced delays say the problem was fixed on Sunday.

At least 2 days of not being able to access my e-mail at all. That is significantly more severe than "a slowdown", more like a case of significantly dead. And I had just paid my bill, and I am now wondering whether I should continue to pay a premium for the service.
