Tabcorp to integrate NSW, VIC IT

Entertainment group Tabcorp will replace its legacy systems and create common wagering operating platforms for NSW and Victorian TABs following moves to integrate the two operations.

A NSW parliament bill introduced today will allow the integration of the NSW and Victorian TABs, which previously ran independently. Tabcorp has been trying to integrate the two operations since it acquired TAB Limited in NSW in 2004.

The project will see NSW TAB's betting engine computers in the suburbs of Ultimo and Granville replaced and the common wagering platforms created for TABs in the two states.

"This will result in the development of development of state-of-the-art wagering software systems," Tabcorp said.

In addition, Tabcorp's call centre operations will be integrated in Granville, NSW, in a move expected to create 300 additional jobs.

"Our customers will enjoy new betting products and benefit from an enhanced wagering system," said tabcorp managing director and chief executive officer Matthew Slatter.

"The integration will also enable the NSW and Victorian racing industries to gain from cost synergy benefits."
