Sun Microsystems Aussie MD resigns
The Australian managing director of Oracle subsidiary Sun Microsystems — Andrew Goodlace — has resigned from his position, according to a former reseller of the company's products.
ZDNet.com.au today confirmed the news with communications integrator NSC managing director Craig Neil, who said he had been personally informed of the resignation by Goodlace. Neil said the former MD had also contacted other resellers with the news.
Goodlace resigned last week and his resignation was effective immediately, according to Neil.
Oracle spokesperson Gareth Llewellyn declined to comment on whether Goodlace had left, saying the company had a policy of not discussing local staff movements.
Goodlace became Sun's acting managing director for Australia in February last year after former managing director Duncan Bennett left the company.
According to Sun's website, Goodlace joined the company in 2007 from Kaz Technology Services where he was client director, responsible for business development.
Prior to Kaz, Goodlace was the founder and managing director of Iocore Asia Pacific (previously Intec Australia), which was acquired by Kaz Technology Services in 2005.
